Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026
GiftHarmony is a gift-planning and product-discovery service. This policy explains the information GiftHarmony processes when you use the service, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
GiftHarmony processes information you provide to create and use an account, including your name, email address, authentication credentials or passkeys, recipient profiles, gift preferences, wish-list information, occasions, budgets, saved gifts, feedback, and any files you intentionally attach to a feedback report.
Recipient profiles may contain information you choose to enter about another person. You are responsible for entering information you are permitted to use and for avoiding unnecessary sensitive information.
Information generated when you use GiftHarmony
The service may process session and security information such as browser or device type, IP address, authentication sessions, request and error logs, and timestamps. GiftHarmony also stores information needed to provide features such as prior gift analyses, saved products, exclusions, and feedback history.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate accounts, generate and improve gift recommendations, search for relevant products, save and synchronize gift-planning activity, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, respond to feedback, maintain security, and operate the service.
AI and product-search services
GiftHarmony may send the information needed for a requested gift analysis or product search to service providers that perform AI processing, search, hosting, email delivery, or product-catalog functions. GiftHarmony is designed to send information for the feature being used rather than intentionally sharing an entire account profile with every provider.
Shopping links and third parties
GiftHarmony can display product information and links from third-party shopping sources and merchants, including eBay and other supported catalogs. When you choose a product link, you leave GiftHarmony and the destination’s privacy practices apply. Product sources may receive information normally associated with following a web link, such as the referring page, browser information, and network information.
If GiftHarmony participates in an affiliate program, qualifying product links may contain tracking parameters that allow the applicable partner or merchant to attribute a visit or purchase to GiftHarmony. GiftHarmony will provide an appropriate disclosure near affiliate links when such links are active.
Cookies and similar technology
GiftHarmony uses cookies or comparable browser storage where necessary for sign-in, session security, preferences, private wishlist claim keys, and core application functionality. Third-party merchant sites may use their own cookies or tracking technologies after you follow a product link; their policies govern those technologies.
Shared wishlists and private gift claims
When you create a shared wishlist link, the wishlist items you choose to share can be viewed by anyone who has that link until it expires or you turn sharing off. Treat a shared wishlist link as something you should send only to people you intend to receive it.
GiftHarmony lets a shopper privately claim an item to reduce duplicate gifts. Anonymous claims use a random browser key stored in that shopper’s browser and a one-way hash stored by GiftHarmony. When a shopper signs in, GiftHarmony can privately associate an eligible browser claim with that account using a server-keyed pseudonymous hash derived from the account identity. This allows the shopper to recognize and manage the claim on other signed-in devices without storing the shopper’s name or email in the claim row or exposing the account linkage to the wishlist owner.
Once a claim is account-synced, GiftHarmony can list it in the shopper’s private My Claimed Gifts view and recognize it across signed-in devices. A claim that remains anonymous and has not been account-synced can still depend on the original browser storage; clearing that storage or changing devices can prevent recognition of that anonymous claim.
GiftHarmony may create private claim-change alerts when a claimed wishlist item is materially changed or removed, when sharing is turned off, or when a shared link expires. These alerts use the existing pseudonymous account or browser claim hashes, share/item identifiers, event type, and a limited item snapshot needed to explain the change. They do not store the shopper’s name or email and are not shown to the wishlist owner. A shopper can dismiss these alerts.
If a signed-in shopper chooses to add a claimed item to their Gift Plan, GiftHarmony stores a private Gift Plan snapshot in that shopper’s account. The snapshot can include the item title, product link, merchant, price, requested variation, quantity, notes, and the shared-wishlist source needed to avoid duplicate plan entries. This private Gift Plan record is not shown to the wishlist owner. Releasing a synced claim does not automatically delete the shopper’s private Gift Plan history.
Sharing and disclosure
GiftHarmony does not sell your personal information. Information may be disclosed to service providers as needed to operate the service, when you direct GiftHarmony to interact with a third-party service, to protect the service or its users, or when disclosure is required by law.
Retention and security
GiftHarmony retains information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and operational records, resolve problems, and meet legal obligations. Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can update information in your GiftHarmony profiles and lists, remove saved items, manage passkeys and active sessions, change your password where applicable, and sign out from the Account & Security area. You can also use GiftHarmony’s feedback feature to ask a privacy or account question.
Children
GiftHarmony is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not create their own GiftHarmony account.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as GiftHarmony’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be updated when material revisions are published.
